Please ignore waitlist- this is a response to earlier ubc poster. Also waiting to hear from department, have not heard anything. checking the portal too frequently! Heard from other program at ubc --hopefully we will hear soon from sociology. best of luck to you!

Received an email to check the portal. Interviewed 1.5 weeks ago. 7a/2w/8r/4p

Ignore interview. My POI informed me that decisions will be released this week. No idea if they interviewed all shortlisted candidates or not. Good luck everyone!

Received an email with an attached letter including funding info.

Applied under the Sociology concentration and the Gender, Sexuality, and Health fellowship. Received a personal email from POI as well as acceptance letter through admissions portal (though I didn't get an email notification for the letter, had to check it myself). Heads up for future applicants that this program is VERY selective and funding seems limited to the topic-specific fellowships/grants they offer, so definitely read about the admissions criteria and fellowships to make sure your time applying is worthwhile!

ignore WL - applicants will be notified this week

Ignore interview-- I haven't heard back yet from MESAAS. no interview either. Should I stay hopeful or prepare for worst? Any opinion appreciated

Admitted with 30% scholarship

Ignore WL. Am I doomed if I didn't get an interview?

Wrote to PI, was told that I was waitlisted. Apparently number of students the school is accepting has been reduced tremendously as compared to last year :( good luck to the rest of the applicants!
