On-campus interview on Feb 1st

Poor undergrad GPA, but 2 years undergrad dry lab neuroscience research experience, then 3 years wet lab neuroscience research, equivalent to that practiced in my lab of interest down to the research question. For so many qualified applicants to be rejected so early (myself not included, given my GPA), the competition must have been nuts. Don't feel too bad!

Applied to Vollum/NGP, but got an interview invite from Behavioral Neuroscience a few days ago. Today, I received the official notification from Vollum/NGP that I was waitlisted there. Seems to be a bit of crosstalk between the two programs, then.

Interview is February 3-4, but sounds like there are several sessions. Got an email from the NSIDP Committee Chair. Super excited, good luck everyone!

Not an official rejection, but I assume they sent out all invites already. 3 years undergraduate research in two HMS Neurobio labs, 1 year as a research tech post-grad. Letters from 3 well-known PIs. 3 in prep co-author publications. Average GPA and GRE- may have been the reason. Pretty bummed but they're very selective based on numbers so it was a reach regardless of extensive research.
