No one is saying that internationals should have priority!!! What Universities in Canada REALLY should do, is to put this information on their websites!!! We should be aware that internationals have no priority and that they to not care about our visa process and all the providences needed for someone who are going to live in another country. We you read their websites, it seams that we (international) are going to have the same possibilities of a national one. This is serious and not fair.

Has anyone talked to applicats from the past years? Or students ? Maybe this is normal and we are just overreacting. Just saying... Personally I havent seen anyone say anything about MEDIA PRODUCTION.

I have sent an email to the program director of Ryerson University regarding the same you people are discussing about. Not getting any update about your application status is frustrating and ridiculous. How can they put student\'s career at risk by doing so, as being an International student we have paid 110 CAD just for an single application. I believe they should atleast have a courtesy to respond or update a status of an application. We should publish this on facebook or should do something (Blog or quora) and write about all such things about ryerson university. so that next time other student dont waste their money and dont wait to hear from them for so long.

I think this is not a domestic vs international student problem. It is not the students it is the school. Ryerson definitely has a problem with their admission process and I begin to suspect some kind of fraud. Each time, I have only received notifications right after I called. I was told a decision was made by the committee since March and this was not communicated to me for no reason at all. After I called I was sent a rejection email. There is no reason why international applications close relatively early and people still do not know their status by now. I will advice everybody to simply call them to get your status. We should consider starting an online campaign on Ryerson. You can not simply run a shabby admission process knowing full well the aim is simply to collect as much application fee as possible with limited space for students. This is not a matter of stiff competition, I do not think most domestic students and a lot of international students applied to Ryerson as their first choice.

to the poster below, I agree! I am angry and disappointed though. It's not fair. They should state on the applications page that they have zero to few spots for international students!! Last time I called I was told not only that international students are processed last, but also that out of all the spots only 1 or 2 are given to Internationals... SHAME ON YOU RYERSON for making us waste money, hope, and time!

To the posters below:rnFirst of all, applicants should get admitted based on their qualifications, not their nationality or tax status..rnSecondly, there is a simple rule, International applicants need to hear back about their application status earlier than domestics. Because internationals need to apply for visa and get ready for a long and important trip...In most of the universities international application deadline closes sooner than domestics deadline. Why?!?

To the student right bellow me: exactly! I did not say that we are better because we pay more. I just wanted to say that the University should let us know that our chances to be accepted are very reduced, so we probably wouldn't apply. I am waiting for months for a response, this is ridiculous. As you said, we need time for many other providences.

I don't think anyone said that we, international students, should be priority. I think that they meant to say that school shouldn't let us know that we are in or not at last moment, because we have to ask for a student visa which takes 3 weeks to be handed not mentioning that we have to look for place to stay, etc.

To the international students applying below, you should be lower priority. This is a publicly funded school. The fact that you pay more is because you are not citizens and will likely not stay in Canada and pay taxes. Canadian citizens and residents should have priority. You want to be higher priority apply to an institution that is for profit...

To the applicant below: Sorry, Guy! I did not have the intention of saying that we should have a better treatment than you guys, domestic ones. What i wanted to say was that they shouldnt making us to wait so much for a response. Sorry one more time! I know that to be accepted in a Master degree isn't easy for anyone

Hey Ryerson guy, blow it out your a**. It is just as difficult for domestic applicants.

I think they should put this information on the website of each course: we only get few international students. Only 1, 2, 5 International students are accepted each year.. things like this. I do not know why they don't give this information to us.

This is so riduculous! Unbelievable what they até doing with so many students, we're in May already! As International students we pay more than 3 times the price ir a domestic student. Also, we spend more money with documents. Is a much more stressing process to us and while many domestic students até rejecting the offer for better ones, we want It more than anything! They should treat us with more respect and some priority .

Accepted with $3,000 in funding. 3.49 CGPA, 3.75 final year, Ryerson alumni of History program, research assistant experience, extensive list of relevant extra-curriculars. I am rejecting it for a better offer.

I am sure that everybody who got this answer about the end of the week are going to be rejected. I received the same response right before be rejected by other university.

I applied December 12, 2017 and still have not heard back from ryerson. I applied part time. Apparently by end of this week I was told.
