Email from POI to expect offer soon. Track: Systems

Unofficial email from POI saying that I will receive a direct PhD entry offer in a few days. International undergrad in Canada. Area: Graphics.

Received unofficial acceptance from one of the professors I interviewed with! Was told the official acceptance will come in 2 weeks.

To the phd applicant below, I submitted my application in Dec and heard nothing back ever since, do you think it's a sign of rejection?

Interviewed with my POI, and I was told that this year they prefer international students as PhD but not Masters. I think that's because the tuition for PhD students are the same between international and domestic students, but not for master. Professor told me if I was interested in doing PhD but I said I was not ready for PhD now and preferred doing the master first, then maybe continue as a PhD student. Waiting for reply since.

To my below poster, the same thing (POI was locked and then unlocked), and I haven't got an interview, so I guess you are right. I guess that we are not on the shortlist of the first round.

To the international poster who referred to me below, yeah I am freaking out too. I have applied for ML(1st choice). I guess your POI and research interest field getting unlocked from locked means an implied rejection :'( *hopenot*

Informed by POI.

I was contacted by a faculty and was given a short assignment but was not selected for the first round. I noticed that my area of interest in the departmental form got unlocked after I was not selected for the first round.

To the poster below, I applied to vision/AI track and have not been contacted for interview, no update no nothing, kinda freakin me out

Aren't there anymore interview notifications for Masters in Computer Science folks ? It has been pretty silent here lately.

To the poster below, I have also noticed the same changes in my departmental form. Does this mean that the first phase of review of application is over?

Was contacted by PI asking to schedule time to discuss my research interests and potential directions we could go together.

In departmental form, until yesterday my top two research interest was locked and top POI. I.e. unchangeable. Today suddenly they have become changeable again. What does it mean? Has anybody else experienced this? (i know at this point changing them will not matter much) 

I had an hour long friendly chat nearby campus and I was told that i'll get an offer in February. Masters from canadian university.
