Waitlisted and rejected later.

Master's GPA 3.68. Didn't expected this could be a rejection after interview...

Canadian student, academic background international

I had several informal interviews with my potential PI and was informed in late March that I had been placed on the waitlist. At that time, however, the ASU portal still showed my application as “In Review.” Throughout the process, I was not able to learn much about my status through the administrative office; when I asked, I was only told that my application was still with the committee. In practice, the only meaningful updates I received came from my potential PI. For those applying to SGSUP next year, I would strongly recommend staying in touch with your potential PI, since the official channels may not provide much clarity about where your application stands.

My GPA is not the highest but I have a lot experience. I did start getting into the SW field since I was 15-16 in a summer internship.
