But got into every other university I applied to and going to Boston University instead (OMG). I really liked the program's history and their link to Chicano/Chicana literature and to Navajo writers. I found out about UNM because I emailed the program asking about when to expect results, and got an email back with the bad news. I'm pretty sure acceptances were sent out a long time ago. I hope this doesn't bring bad news to anyone, but if it does, chin up. You will get into a program!!!! (4a, 0w, 1r, 0s)

I was on the subway, minding my own (sad and depressed because of one more unknown MFA reply) business, when Leslie Epstein called me on my mobile. I think I got off the train. Well, I must have. I think I said "OMG" about twenty times (facepalm). We had a lovely chat (well, Mr Epstein was lovely on the phone while I could barely put two words together from the shock and the emotion and whatnot). And I accepted the offer. And I still can't believe it. All the best to all applicants, I know the wait is horrifying. Impossible things do happen, though, and you will get into the program of your dreams. (4a/0w/1r/0s)

Email sends applicant to web portal. 1a/2w/3r/1p

No official communication but they updated the status on the profile on their portal to "Not Accepted"

Was not notified via email, but went up in portal today. Form rejection

No notification - just checked my portal on a whim, and there it was. Honestly madder about not being notified than being rejected. Pretty rude. 5a/2r/3p

Anyone hear from Hunter about being on the short list?

Offered Perry Morgan Fellowship (Full Tuition + Stipend, No teaching 1st year). Still making my decisions. 2a/2r/1p

Yay! "High" on waitlist. (1a/3w/14r/2p)

Received an email from the director. Funding seems limited to non-existent. Will have to way against other offers.

Was happy to be accepted but will be turning down the offer. Heading to another University with better funding and much better faculty...

Sent an eager and excited email to [email protected] asking of there was any update on my app status. In reply, got a scanned copy of a generic rejection letter...

Another WL! Did they tell you what number you are? Good luck!

Emailed and got a response in about a day.

Accepted off the waitlist... Is this real life?

Like the other poster, I expected this. Disappointed, but you know. Thanks to everyone for the kind words earlier. I've just got one more to go. Also I agree with the poster who said to apply earlier. That's the thing I hate about places that read as they receive applications. Not sure everyone is getting a fair shake there. Eh 1a/2w/4r/1p
