Email offering me acceptance!

Got an informal skype call from POI notifying me of acceptance.

Full tuition + TAship. Interviewed about a month ago. Will not be attending.

Same question as poster below. I haven't seen many admits/rejects outside Robotics and ML, so wondering if anyone received notifications about other fields like PoP or Security.

Invited for visit day March 2.

Does anyone know if the admissions for general CS have being released already? How about PoP specifically?

I received the admission to the PhD program with financial support as a research assistant but I did not determine to go yet

TOEFL score is an aggregate of reading, writing, and listening in addition to speaking, and doesn't tell the university that much about how strong your accent is, how well you speak the language, etc. Besides, people cheat--it's not redundant at all. Columbia has had big issues in the past with admitted graduate students showing up with very poor English abilities. Bottom line is, if your interview is not with a professor and is just a one-way video recording request, it's not a real interview

To the poster below: If the university uses interview to evaluate the English speaking skills, then what's the use of TOEFL/IELTS exam. Don't you think it's bit redundant on their part assuming what you are telling is correct?

Has anyone received any result in the past couple of days? I am stressing out so bad :( Please let us know if you are still waiting or even been rejected

To the poster blow: yes I have the same status, I had an interview with POI 3 days ago and since then I got nothing, no response from the POI, nothing. I kinda think this means I'm going to get rejected.

To everyone commenting on the interviews for MSCS: Columbia uses these interviews primarily as a filtering mechanism for international students to make sure they can speak English. The only people who reported receiving interviews were international, American students wouldn't do them
