To the Edinburgh posts below: I only received interview from POI around a month ago. I think there should be another interview for the scholarship if shortlisted. I did not receive interview from the scholarship, so I think I might have been effectively rejected.

To the post below, I noticed the same problem of CC to the POI. I asked my POI in person and he said no, the admission was made by committee and I could choose who to work with for the first year. But I am not sure whether that is just a policy and in practice, we can't change the advisor.

Did not ask for funding. Had a LOR from a VT's prof. Did 3 month research intern at VT without paper. To the post below which asked about status in VT's portal: "Status" in my application portal shows "In review", while I got a pdf file sent by them saying I was offered with admission.

The Informatics Global PhD Scholarship website says that successful applicants would be notified by 18 Feb. Does anyone ever receive notification from school? Or has anybody been invited for an interview? I didn't see many posts this year.......

MCDS. To the poster below, it is stated in the acceptance email that "By the end of the first semester, students must declare at least one area of concentration (Systems, Analytics, or Human-Centered Data Science)". So I think we could make a decision regarding the concentration later.
