To the UMD poster below : Had you had an interview with the POI?

Got response from POI that I am rejected. My status is still department waitlisted/under review but unless there is a grant that comes through there wont be any update on my application.

To the poster below: I received an invitation to the rescheduled campus visit after my follow-up interview with my POI. When he told me he would recommend me for admission to the committee, he said he would also ask them to put my name on the list for the visit. I don't know if that means the rescheduled visit is more exclusive than the original visit or not. Since I've been accepted, I don't think they'll be interviewing me during the visit, but I plan to meet and talk with my POI.

To the Notre Dame posters: may I ask whether you received any notification regarding the campus visit in March? I attended the online interview and then got an invitation to the campus visit, but nothing about the decision was mentioned. Nor did it say the visit is another round "interview". So I was wondering what to expect.

Woke up and got an e-mail to check portal, kind of sad but expected. I'll return with a better profile and try again someday.

Attended their online interview in February. From a no name liberal arts program and have no publications. Very surprised and excited. Wish the rest of you success in your admission!

Very excited and unexpected acceptance! Strong LORs and extensive work experience/internships in relevant field before graduating undergrad (1 year Co-Op with respected and multinational corporation, followed by 1 semester Co-Op with a larger and more respected corporation). Good SOP in which I described my journey to becoming interested in the field and how I was prepared for it. Mediocre GPA and decent/good GRE scores. Thought my GPA would hold me back, but I believe my work exp and GRE compensated. I believe the Verbal and AWA were more important GRE components, as they asked several times for these scores and only once for Quant. Best of luck to you all!

Great HCI program. One of the top choices.

Interested in machine learning and computer vision. BS in math and BS in computer science. Currently in a Masters program in math. Undergrad REU in commutative algebra. Interviewed in Feb and had a follow up interview with POI that I think went well.
