Accepted off of wait list with funding! 1a/3r

20a/1w/0r I've been tying up funding and waiting lists at 20 schools in the infinitesimal chance I get into Iowa from its waiting list. I should probably decline offers to all but one backup, but I'm a narcissist. People have told me, "Why would anyone admitted there ever say no?" That's a valid point, but maybe someone headed there might die after being struck by lightning.

Any news from the school ? Is anyone planning on not attending ?

Canadian. Received unofficial rejection through email. Received official rejection via email a week or so later. Honestly, it was a rather crappy rejection letter. Other Canadian institutions provided encouraging rejections. The way a university or program rejects applicants is a testament to how the students are treated and considered (or not). Glad to not go here. Huge sigh of relief to where I will be going!

Hi to the other waitlister here — I'm number two!

Anyone hear from SIUC about the creative writing MFA? I've been waitlisted, but I would love to go here!

The e-mail just came in 15 minutes ago :(

Received a form e-mail from Catherine Con stating that a formal rejection letter is forthcoming. I'm not surprised, but I do find it poor form to notify this late in the season. For one of the top MFA Programs in the country, I hoped for more efficiency.

Not shocking. Glad to have closure. 4a/1w/2r

Accepted Cornell’s offer today. Had some other offers and waitlists. Hope this helps out others. Ps, third year applying ;)

does anyone hear from Queens college? Already April 5th....

Has anyone heard anything about the poetry programs at Portland State University and/or University of San Francisco? Trying to decide between them. Any insight at all much appreciated!

Sigh. Rejected as expected. Still hurts.
