Has any applicant candidate received an update on the application? Have the interview/admit decisions already been sent out?

Waitlisted Princeton. Accepted to UCB, UW, CMU, Duke.

Had interview in mid January. Does anyone know the chance for wait-listed candidates?

Starting to realize how much of a lottery these things are. Great scores, academics, research, and LORs simply may not be enough unfortunately.

Live or die application approach (all top schools with no safety). So the whole process is kinda like lottery and I am so lucky to hit one school. Well! go to Princeton for postdoc then.

Met with faculty on campus to visit, and had multiple informal interviews. They said I was a competitive candidate with solid research experience but it wasn't enough.

I am corresponding with one of the faculty on my 1st author paper, and had a decent resume with two nth author papers and three years research experience at a top 20 physics school, so I figured I'd be competitive but this wasn't entirely unexpected. 2 rejections 1 acceptance out of 13, crossing my fingers.
