Have an interview next week. Was excited, but have heard that a lot of the faculty I am interested in working with are no longer accepting students and are retiring. Hopeful that I am wrong, or that other faculty there that I haven't read about yet are working within my field of interest.

A bit surprised, given my credentials, but relieved because I did not want to live in Atlanta and I was not entirely convinced the program was a good fit for me compared to others. Actually, at this stage of the process it was in the bottom of my list after I applied to all the programs. Rejected by standard generic email on January 18.

E-mail from POI (initials SK) this morning, followed by an e-mail from the grad director this evening. Full funding and I was nominated for fellowships.

Received an email indicating that I'm in the final stage of the admission processs so they're extending an invitation to visit the the campus to meet with the chair, faculty, graduate students and other prospective graduate students.

Invited to campus interview day on February 22.

Formal invitation to Graduate Open House 2/27-3/2. I did not have an interview before the invitation nor did I contact my POI before applying.

My self-confidence is shot rn and I have lost faith that I will get into any of the PhD programs I applied into so I'm posting this. I was accepted within a week of applying but this is honestly my "my life is a failure backup plan" school...
