Form postal rejection. My writing sample--a short story--is forthcoming in Granta. Granta, Iowa peeps. Jees.

Fully-funded if accepted off the waitlist

Thrilled to have a chance at NYU. Sweet. But looking back through the Grad Cafe archives, it appears NYU does not notify folks before April 15th, and it seems that they are not very forthcoming about when they accept people off the list. Well, for what it's worth, if you're not planning to go to NYU, please let 'em know. This is my dream school.

Got letter via email that I was wait listed but guaranteed full funding if a spot opens up. Did anyone else get a similar letter? Good luck to everyone :)

Waitlisted for fiction. They will not specify how many people are on the waitlist or my place on the waitlist. No information about how I will be contacted should a spot open up. Nervous but hopeful!

1a/0w/2r/ 3 pending. Good luck everyone!

Entirely expected. However, I'm still peeved that Iowa insists on wasting paper/destroying trees to send little typed paragraphs when they could simply email us.

I never even received an email to notify me that results had been posted (on March 1). I only checked because this website alterted me to the fact that notifications had been sent. batignollThis is NOT a program I will ever again consider.

Sam Chang wrote on the bottom of my letter, "You were a finalist!" Obviously not enough to make the waitlist.

VERY unexpected, like really, incredibly unexpected and out-of-nowhere and not anticipated. Didn't see it coming. Truly a surprise. Can hardly believe it.

For those of you who have received a rejection letter from Iowa via postal mail--does your application status on the portal still say "In Progress"? I'm assuming most acceptances already went out, but I haven't received a rejection letter either....
