Congratulations to all of those being accepted! How exciting it must be and you absolutely deserve this! Do not let anyone tell you any different. Goodluck with interviews and I wish you the best with your future endeavors! To those rejected like me- this does not define you. Find some silver lining and keep going. Do not let these institutions break you down!

I'm not surprised. I'm more annoyed with the Ivy's inexplicable timing of sending me a rejection as I'm literally about enter an interview elsewhere. It's almost like they want to the rejection to have double the impact -_____- Also, props to all the people who have gotten interviews! Seems like it's an especially tough season. Best of luck and hope you find the best fit for you.

To the poster asking about how I was notified about my rejection. They sent an e-mail to check a "Status Update Available" at the status portal: Thank you very much for applying to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Yale University. I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission. As you know, the very high number of extraordinary candidates far exceeds the number of places we have in each program, and we are not able to admit many excellent candidates. We wish you every success in all your future endeavors.

They told me when I sent an inquiry email that they are in the process of scheduling zoom interviews with international students. But they were not saying that they finalized interview lists for internationals.

Has anyone heard back yet? If not, any idea when they will make their decision?

I'm not the person from the post below, but I saw this on the program's website: "Due to COVID-19, interviews will be conducted virtually and will be held on the dates below: Jan 29th & 30th - BQBS, CBB, Micro Feb 5th & 6th - MCGD, PMB Feb 12th & 13th - Immuno, MMPP, Neuro Feb 19th & 20th - MCGD Feb 26th & 27th - Neuro " So, I think I will also consider a rejection

To the poster who got rejected. Did you get an update on your application website or on which website did you see it? Did you have an interview beforehand? Thank you for your answer in advance.

TTPB: I applied to Harvard, Caltech, and Princeton for hep-th or equivalent, and I too have not received anything from them. At least for the people who said they were contacted by these universities and posted their subfields, it seems most of them are experimental, or astrophysics. Let's hope for the best.

TTPB who asked about Yale's PhD in stat interview: I receive the invitation from the director, so I assume it is a formal one.

Reply to the previous question: some people who got waitlisted posted in a Chinese forum saying that the email they got explicitly said the acceptance rate this year dropped to below 3% with 1000+ applicants.

Current Yale Student, TTPB: Yale does two rounds of admissions; in Dec and in Jan/early Feb! While many acceptances were sent out during the first round in Dec, some should be sent in this round...Good luck everyone!!
