4.0 grad gpa in mpp program, lots of research experience post-undergrad

Second acceptance after Davis ARE. 2a/0r/3p

Emailed Duke Admissions to check on application status since I haven't heard anything at all (no interview invitation). They responded saying decisions are sent February and March, that it will be available on application portal. Totally does not help

It seems to suggest I got documents in the mail concerning both this acceptance and financial aid, although I don't think I have yet. After dealing with UNC biostat for a while, I'm kinda assuming this is unfunded, but this email doesn't seem to dance around my getting funding quite as much as UNC, so maybe I will actually get funding? -- Roadrunner

to the user below: I am a little familiar with the decision-making process at the graduate admissions (not necessarily Duke PubPol), sometimes they turn you down because they know you have pretty good chances to be accepted to a better program elsewhere. They are being strategic. So good job, congrats!

No interview.

Email to check website, no interview so expected. First rejection, but already accepted with funding to one of my top choices in Economics. Was likely to turn down but still stings.

Rejected via email. Good GPA, GRE score and papers. I thought I had a great shot, given how well the interview went and the fit with them. 2nd reject of the season.

To the poster who posted here on February 5th about receiving an acceptance email for the Evolutionary Anthropology program at Duke, did you have an interview prior to the acceptance notification?

To the comment below asking more about Duke Management PhD - POI = Person of interest, or professor of interest as I like to view it. And I was told by my POI that the program decided to admit on alternating years. Apparently this year (fall 2019 entry) is not one when they'll be accepting students.

I applied there as a joke. No clue how this followed through =')

To the Duke Management And Organizations poster below: Sorry, unclear how you found out...what is POI? Did they mention whether interview invites have been sent out? So far nobody has posted an interview invite here, which is odd...
