Asked the dept, they don't provide details regarding position or size of waitlist. Waitlisted for one month and this is still my top choice. it's killing me

I interviewed and attended the Open House in February. Late notification is because my supervisor was able to take a second student (I was the second).

TPB: I have also yet to receive any update on my application. I had mailed the dept on 18th March and was told that results will be out in a week or two. But its 8th April today and no result yet. Anyways I didn't get any interview invite as well, so at this point of time there is no hope of acceptance. When did you submit your application? Have you given any interview ??

Does anyone else have offers they need to accept by 15th April? Any update on when other decisions will be release by NYU?

If anyone has been extended an offer but is leaning towards another program, pllleeeeaaassseeeee consider declining in advance of the common reply date. We on the NYU waitlist are real, desperate, flesh-and-blood people and would be forever in your debt :)

Declined offer in mid-March for financial reasons. Aside from cost, it seems like a strong program!

Department isn't able to take any students off the waitlist this year to conserve funding for current students due to coronavirus

Hi everyone, just a PSA to not even waste your time applying to NYU they literally pick who they want before the interviews and even if you change their mind at the interview they will just throw you on a fake waitlist and make you wait until right before the deadline just to reject you (and not even inform you of the waitlist you are on, complete ghosting situation for 3 months). I contacted several people just to inquire about my standing for admission with NO ANSWERS until less than 10 days before the deadline to accept offers. Honestly I received 0 respect from the entire grad administration at NYU and it was a terrible experience
