It's unclear by when we should reply to the acceptance. Is it April 15th?

Guys, any idea if admits in the Machine Learning track will still be rolled out in the days to come? I gave my online interview on February 14th but haven't heard from them ever since, though I see some admits here in this very track. Does this imply a rejection, or is that a premature inference at this point? Thanks!

I agree with the CMU post below: There is a high probability that the UCSD degree wouldn't be entirely free. Going a stretch beyond expected expenditure for something that will stick with you for life is not a stupid decision. There is a difference between CMU and UCSD. Stanford and CMU are equally prestigious when it comes to CS. I don't see why its such a difficult decision in case of CMU but would've been easy in case of Stanford.

To the poster below - you are saying good things about CMU based on what is on the internet and not when you join the universities. No doubt CMU is a good school, but in no way, it is as glorified an experience as what is quoted on the internet. You will understand what goes on at university when you will join.

Abysmal GPA but in a somewhat unrelated field. Strong portfolio, High GRE scores and a unique SOP along with good recommendations from professional I've worked with look to have got me through.

Very Disappointed. Architecture Undergrad. Decent SOP and LOR's and a good design portfolio.

To the poster below, please let the forum know if you are granted the extension from Columbia. Many admitted students are in a fix for the same.

Disappointed. I have a terrible GPA, that's probably what led to the reject. Decent SOP, Relevant experience, Good LORs and a good portfolio.

Offer to be put on a waitlist plus an acceptance to an unfunded MS program.

To the Columbia poster below, I was told by multiple people that schools cannot force you into making a decision before April 15th. May be worth looking into!

@Columbia post: you can ask them to give you an extension. I am currently attending the Columbia MS in CS program, and last year I asked them 3 times for extensions for other offers. They were fine with it.

Decision deadline in a week with a non-refundable deposit of 4000$. It's pretty harsh considering I'm still waiting on most of my other applications and still have to weigh the pros/cons. But, yay, I'm accepted. Should I ask Columbia to give me another week or should I ask other colleges to respond within a week? Both options look suicidal.
