I received an email with directions to the website for the official letter. The offer included funding and possible TA position!

Waitlist for funding

Accepted via email, which mentioned that the possibility of notification via portal, but I didn't see any change in the portal.

Email indicated 'first alternate' pending an opening.

Waitlisted but received an encouraging email nonetheless.

Offered Dean's Merit Scholarship to cover 35% of tuition.

Got a lovely voicemail and email from Prof. Hahn.

Nice email.

!!! This is one of my top choices, so I'm pretty excited. 1r/1a/0w/3p

Waitlisted at FAU! I'm so excited to still be in the running. This is my top choice so if anyone isn't going to FAU and has been accepted, please please let them know! :)

Amidst all that has been going on, I was SHOCKED to get this email. Figured I was in the reject pile and wouldn't get notification until April. Polite and straightforward email explaining that many of their first picks were hoping to visit campus, but now that it's all be cancelled they aren't sure when they'll have news. I'm not holding my breath, but it's heartening to know I even got put aside for consideration.

I reached out to ask about my status and was told they could not extend an offer.

10 March 2020 Dear--- The Department of English has carefully reviewed your application for entrance into the MFA Program in Creative Writing. I'm sorry to inform you we have decided not to offer you admission. It's an unfortunate truth of the writing life that rejection comes more often than acceptance, and I encourage you to remember that all this letter means is your application wasn't a match for our program. I wish you the best of luck with your future work. Sincerely, Becha Mara Mckay Associate Professor of Translation and Creative Writing Director of Creative Writing Department of English (well don't care, it was a bad safety school)
