3 first author papers (one in Nature Machine Intelligence) plus 7 or so middle author papers, 4 years research experience at Stanford and 2 years during my undergraduate, good gpa (89,5% avg), horrendous GRE score though (156 or something, first standardized test I ever took :/). Research area is AI/ML + Comp Bio

1 Top-tier conference paper first author. No interview from any POI.

No interviews, "We received over 2400 applications this year and were not able to admit all competitive applicants. The Graduate Admissions Committee evaluated the applications very carefully and had to make difficult decisions, denying admission to many excellent candidates because of the limited number of available slots."

A friend who is in the program said they had a 4% acceptance rate this year. I can only imagine how tough it was for the rest of the schools on my list.

Generic rejection email: "We had a very competitive group of applicants and we are simply unable to accept all of the qualified candidates who applied."

CME. Only 8 months of research experience. No publications. Didn't contact any POI's during the application process.

My first admit among the list of universities I applied . Having a low undergraduate GPA but 3 Journals in top tier conferences (2 accepted , 1 under review). Strong LoRs might have helped. Interviewed in Jan

Area: ML. Stats: International applicant, 3.91 GPA, 2 conference papers (at AISTATS and NeurIPS), had an interview in January.
