Got admit to VLSI track. But it was very irresponsible for the admissions committee to release the decision this late. I have already booked visa appointments, housing and flights and it will be so much of a hassle to change my university now.

I applied for VLSI track, got zero response from them till now. I already knew that I was rejected, but I feel that they are very unprofessional in their process. The rejection was very standard. I will not apply there for my Ph.D. for sure.

What is wrong with them, who waits this long to release results? Although I'd already gotten in elsewhere and knew that I wouldn't get in here, it is thoroughly unprofessional to be releasing results 2 months after the national decisions deadline.

Ignore the waitlisted. Applied for fall 2021 - ECE VLSI Track.When I mailed last time during the end of May,Debra said results will be out by June Mid after their last review of Fall 2021. However still the decision status remains 'Awaiting Decision' in the portal.Any idea that they will release decisions or they are not admitting anyone for VLSI this Fall?

Ignore waitlisted, I have applied for MSc for VLSI track and still got no answer. It is mentioning ( Awaiting Decision ) in the website. I sent an email to the coordinator about a month back and she said that she has no news for me and that she will contact when the decision is out. Anyone in the same situation? I need to book the tickets, so if anyone has any news, please share.

Hi, is anyone still waiting for admission from MSE. I haven't heard back from the department I tried e mailing still no response.

I contacted the department again and they sent me a written email. No update from the website or anything else. Second college doing this to me. No correct communication.

Has any one been accepted off the waitlist ?

TTPB; I also received this cryptic mail yesterday from Deb. "Unfortunately, no decision has been made on your application at this time. We were hoping to have the final decisions by mid-April from first review, but this has not happen so this means that you won't hear from us with a admit or reject until after our final review in early May. Results from the final review will be out late May/early June." This means they don't definitely have rolling admissions as I applied in November. Don't even know if all in May are rejects only. It is shocking that they have given no admits to VLSI, I applied in MN and did not hear many admits in that field too.

TTPB, she used to send the reply you stated until a few days back. Now that mid-April has passed, if yoi email her, you'll most probably get a reply stating "if no decision has been sent until now, then your profile will be evaluated during our second review. Results in May-end/June"... Something along these lines. A lot of people including me received this reply yesterday.

TTPB; When did Deb send this info to you? When I recently mailed she told me they will release first review final decisions by mid-April. Yes, if they are doing it to VLSI peeps, then it is indeed sad.

TTPB, from Debra's replies, it looks like they're not admitting any VLSI students this year. She says there are no decisions left to be sent out from their first review, and no one from VLSI received an admit until now... Should've applied to Computer Engineering track instead, they've given a lot of admits for that :(
