To the posters below: I received the same email you did, also without ever being notified as to admission status. I was confused and so I reached out to Marnie Leonard, asking her what it meant. I wrote: "Thank you for letting me know. I wasn't aware that I was accepted to the MFA program to preclude me being considered for a GTA. Does this mean I have been accepted, or is this merely a preliminary item?" She replied, "This is preliminary and, although I can't specify more, you are welcome to draw a logical conclusion. 😊" Like with the happy face at the end. I'm taking that as an informal acceptance, but you guys sure don't have to, I understand not wanting to count chickens before they hatch. Let me know what you think. I cant imagine them bothering to run background checks on unadmitted people.

To the poster below me - I got the same thing! Confused, but hoping it's a good sign.

I got an email saying I'm being considered for the GTA but I have to complete a background check. The email seems generic, and I haven't received any form of acceptance yet. I logged into my portal and my status stills says submitted. What?? Is anyone experiencing the same confusion??
