To be honest, I think my grades and publications are above the average level of Brown admissions, and I guess this year Brown's admissions strategy is to eliminate some overqualified people to ensure their yield. anyway, I've gotten better admissions, I just feel bad about my application fee.

They playing hard to get. Do not worry I will take it personal and they will regret their decision. I got into much better programs. Low budget university. 😘😘

Got a call from a prof on the admissions committee. Official offers being emailed on Friday!

(I've done 2 years of research in a specialized subfield (uncommon for undergrads in my subfield), so I thought that MIGHT make up for very meh stats.) Rejection letter reads: "Thank you for your interest in the Department of Chemistry graduate program at the University of Michigan. After careful review of your application and supporting materials, I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission to our program for the Fall 2022 term. This decision is not a reflection on your qualifications. As the number of applications has risen, we increasingly need to turn away qualified applicants to ensure that our class size is small enough so that each student will be able to join a research group. To accomplish this goal, we need an incoming class of 5-10% the size of our applicant pool. This leads to a regrettable situation where we must deny admission to very good students. Best wishes to you for success in your future studies."

Undergraduate GPA of 3.5/4.0. No GRE, IELTS/TOEFL was waived. 2 years of work experience as a medical lab technician, 1 publication. Congrats to all those who were accepted.

Got offer letter without interview

Got an acceptance offer through email. No interview. No publications but lots of academic and industrial experience revolving around natural products, organic synthesis, inorganic chemistry, and analytical chemistry in general. 1.5 years undergraduate research in fluorine chemistry (academia). 1 year doing natural product extraction (industry). 3 month internship doing large scale custom synthesis (industry). 1 year doing inorganic mineral analysis (industry). 1 year volunteering in Mayo Clinic's clinical chemistry department. 1 paper presentation at research conference. And 2.5 years as a certified pharmacy technician (was interested in Med Chem PhD also). Took a year off after undergrad and got hired as a chemist in department of medicinal chemistry doing natural product extraction and isolation (academia).

I interviewed for pharmaceutical sciences but applied to both. Got accepted to chemistry with no interview? A little confused but very excited :)
