standard rejection email

Devastated. Didn't expect a rejection email so soon. I thought I had a really good shot this time but alas I'm proven wrong!

Generic Rejection Email

Too tired to be sad. Just let it go.

So stoked. 3 yrs research experience, 2 co-author publications, first author publication almost done. 5 conference presentations (4 oral, 1 poster) at national and international level. President of club sports team and leader in chem e orgs. one excellent letter (PI), 2 very strong ones (research collaborator and core prof).

Notified by email that I would get an official offer in a few days.

Official letter in a few days.

Secured a PhD supervisor before applying. Fulbright award recipient and Rhodes Scholarship finalist. That being said, applying out of undergraduate with 0 publications in political communications.

Any contacted privately by POI mentioned in SoP for an interview? (Not interview with 3 Profs from the committee) What does this supposed to mean?
