TTPB, I interviewed with MIT Econ Soc. last week. They said they expected to wrap up decisions in the next week or two.

Has anyone heard about interviews from the Economic Sociology group yet? I saw that Sloan has already done interviews for several of their other PhD programs, but I haven't seen any posts about interviews of potential Economic Sociology students. From what I can see from previous years, I'm guessing I'll get a rejection notification from them in the next few days. But still holding out a bit of hope I suppose.

Didn't hear anything yet.

Did anyone receive any acceptance?

Change status: application has been reviewed by staff and has been sent to the admissions committee for consideration.

a lot of research experience, but some of it was not in the field I am pursuing for grad school. Two publications on the way. I interviewed in early January with them

not super surprised. 3.98 undergrad.

4.0 GPA in my undergrad and masters degree. My research interests aligned directly with members of the faculty. Big SAD

TTPB: I think he represents the admission committee, because he is not my POI for MIT.

Interview February 5, 15 minutes with prof from HEP-ex like @TTPB, but I indicated interest in astrophysics theory in app, mentioning only profs in that area. Is the interviewer just a member of the admissions committee or was interviewing for HEP-ex only?

hep-ex. It's also a 15 mins interview.

Sad! Bye bye mathematics...

Hep-ex. 15 mins interview with a prof on the admission committee.

"... The decision in your case was reached only after extensive review in a highly competitive process. " LOL a nice way of saying they took 5 second to read my file because everyone getting accepted probably learned analysis in middle school or IMO or Putnam

Applied for mathematical physics and reached out to faculty in September last year; still a long shot for me with an engineering background

Ayyeeee Im finally part of the MIT rejection club. Glad to be a part of such a fun group of individuals. (Chemical Engineering Undergraduate, 4.0, Applied to PSFC, no publications, 2.5 years of research experience)

Generic rejection email

A bit sad, engineering undergrad background so not too surprised either. Dream school dream program :(((
