Phone call from Jim Blaylock saying I was accepted to the program and on a "short list" for funding. They offer 4 fully funded packages (tuition remission and stipend) and 1 full tuition scholarship. I will be saying no, so hopefully that frees up some movement on the funding front!

I was notified via email that I was accepted today, and a letter would be sent out soon. However, I was wait-listed for funding. This is the only university I've applied to. Without funding, I cannot go. Feeling pretty crushed. For anyone waitlisted for acceptance - be hopeful - my spot will become available for you!

To the posters below: I received the same email you did, also without ever being notified as to admission status. I was confused and so I reached out to Marnie Leonard, asking her what it meant. I wrote: "Thank you for letting me know. I wasn't aware that I was accepted to the MFA program to preclude me being considered for a GTA. Does this mean I have been accepted, or is this merely a preliminary item?" She replied, "This is preliminary and, although I can't specify more, you are welcome to draw a logical conclusion. 😊" Like with the happy face at the end. I'm taking that as an informal acceptance, but you guys sure don't have to, I understand not wanting to count chickens before they hatch. Let me know what you think. I cant imagine them bothering to run background checks on unadmitted people.

I got an email saying I'm being considered for the GTA but I have to complete a background check. The email seems generic, and I haven't received any form of acceptance yet. I logged into my portal and my status stills says submitted. What?? Is anyone experiencing the same confusion??

Email from Don Lee with funding offer (about $20k a year for GTA). Honestly a somewhat offputting email, asking me to tell them within a week whether I'm likely to accept or decline the offer. Other intel is that they'll have open houses on March 19, March 26, and April 2.
