I am not the original Cambridge poster, but most likely you are on the maybe pile at Cambridge, meaning they are waiting till they know their class size before they review your application again. If you want a decision sooner, you might want to contact them and tell them you have another offer with a deadline and so you would like to hear from them. Good luck!

I have therefore submitted your application to the Board of Graduate Studies who will hopefully make their decision very shortly. As you know, Once the Board of Graduate Studies confirm an offer of a place, we then need acceptance by a Cambridge college, but again, I would hope that this would not take too long. I appreciate that your application is still under consideration, but at least the major decision-making body has confirmed their approval. I will let you know as soon as decision is confirmed."
