Unexpected call from POI to notify me that I am one of three finalists. Briefly chatted about my research interests and the work going on in his lab. POI said to expect another call from one of his grad students.

I am the one who posted earlier about POI saying decisions being made within the week. I am also applying to cognitive track. Perhaps different faculty are making decisions at different times. I was not the one to initiate the contact, so I think the info is pretty legit. Good luck

My POI said that he did not hear any information about my admission process and the decisions will not be made by next week. I have applied to cognitive program.

FINALLY got rejected from Harvard! It took them freaking long enough! I wish they would send rejections by email; I don't see the point of snail mail rejections. They are just wasting paper and it's not like there are any other papers in the envelope.

not surprised by either the decision or the boring generic letter - oh well

@ the poster below: Sorry to hear that :( Hope you'll be (or have already been) accepted elsewhere. Would you mind sharing where you're located (or what the date on the letter says)? I'm waiting for the rejection letter from that very department myself but it's just not coming...
