surprised admit; low-tier bachelor's, no grad experience (yet) 4a;3r;3waiting

Spoke to graduate admissions coordinator. She was very sweet and said that there may be a chance that I was waitlisted, but they already had their interviews earlier this month. Congrats to all those who made it!

TTBP from BITS: Which track did you apply to? Any funding you got?

BITS Pilani, Applied with a gpa of 9.03. No pubs but relevant research over last three semesters with a foreign summer internship, GRE 334,

Rejected but I've been accepted into another good school. 1a/1w/2r/1u

Invited to have an informal skype early Feb with one of my POIs mentioned in SOP, and told I was admitted by the graduate coordinator a week later. Reached out to no one in this department, so very surprised!

Very rude rejection. “This is your official notification. A letter will not be mailed to you.” Do not deserve the application fee.

TTPB: Congrats. Which track may I ask? Also, any work ex?

Admitted w/o any interview, 3.8 gpa, no publishment

Knew this was a long shot!

Your application has been given careful consideration by the committee on Graduate Studies. On the basis of their recommendation, your application has been denied. (I can't believe that they did not even bother to create a rejection letter or something! So rude!)

Jeez, that's a rude rejection method. Didn't even bother contacting us rejects... meep.

Honestly, wasn't bothered at all because I've been fortunate to have been accepted into programs that are a much better fit for me, but the way they so flippantly inform you on the website (without even emailing you to tell you to check) is something I hope the incoming cohort discusses with them -- Congrats to those who got in!
