To the USC poster below worried about GPA based admits - Yep it looks true that they are taking in based on GPA's. My cg is 8.98, if what you say is true then I might get good news in a few days.

Thought it to be a safe one. Took many people with even with a low gre or gpa. Disheartened :(

Is it true that USC is sending out admits in the order of the pointers (CG)? Apparently, 9 pointers have got their admits already and people with pointer belonging to the range of 8.8-8.9 are receiving them now. I know its a stupid thing to follow, but just curious and scared since my pointer is in early 8s :P

I applied for specialisation in Machine Learning. I have an IEEE conference paper and research projects in this field. Feeling dejected! :(

People with better profiles were rejected. This year the decisions seem to be random.

Has anyone got admit in Mar 2016? I have seen a few admits in Feb. My status still shows 'Submitted'. :(

Accepted into the Summer MS Early Start Program which starts from July 5. This summer, the Viterbi School of Engineering will host a Summer M.S. Early Start program for a select group of high-achieving Electrical Engineering and Computer Science students. As part of the Early Start program you will have an opportunity to join USC early and start taking classes beginning on July 5, 2016. Participants recommended for admission to Summer Early Start Program will enroll in one course required for the MS degree.

Sent an email to the graduate school for some information. The CS department will be giving out decisions till 15th May for international applicants and 15th August for American applicants. Applicants waiting for their decisions from VaTech might find this useful.

Maybe because of low quant scores in GRE. Was one of my safe schools.

To the poster below: It could also be because, you have been accepted by the department, and it is currently being reviewed by the grad school, for the final round of evaluation. I guess, UMD is sending out rejects too, and since your's isn't, keep your fingers crossed (that it is moving towards an accept). All the best :)
