I am devastated. This was my last rejection and also my top choice. This season gave me mental breakdowns. Life sucks! Congratulations to those who are in, though.

Informal email from DGS on 23 Jan (official letter delayed bcoz of international credentials); 5 yrs TAship funding WINTER IS COMING!

Email telling me that there were a lot of strong applicants this year and they were unable to admit everyone promising. Generic, pretty much.

Expected. You know how sometimes when people get rejected they say that it was a bad fit and you wonder why then did they bother applying? Well, that's me. I have my reasons: first, NYU has a good anthro program and second, I really liked this professor whose research is like tangentially related to mine at best but I still thought they were super cool so what the hell. It happens people. Also sometimes you can think that the fit might not be good and they accept you anyways and sometimes you are right in thinking that it's not a great fit. Just my 2 cents.

Finally...

Email to check the portal.

Waited for so long...

Finally 😂😂

Email to check portal.

Will be attending in the Fall

Email from DGS with "CONGRATULATIONS," formal letter from the graduate school to come. Waitlisted for funding. I am happy as this was my second choice, but I got into my first choice with funding and will decline this offer.

Letter received on Feb 15

Finally!! Took them long enough 😂
