Denied by PhD program but accepted into MA. Not even mad. 2a/0w/0r

Accepted off the Waitlist! I'm ecstatic! My POI who called last week to tell me I was waitlisted called me to tell me I'm accepted. After a conga line of rejections, this is such a relief!

The Renewable & Sustainable Energy specialization of the Masters of the Environment (MENV) graduate program. Nothing about funding mentioned in the mail.

Was emailed by my POI 5 days after the interview weekend (which they funded). TAship and summer funding for 5 years. Also, a fellowship to help with the move! Dream school here I come !

To the person asking about my profile -- I did not publish any research and only had one REU experience (which was pretty rigorous with talks and report writing as well as conference presentations). I have a few solid internships and a 4.0 in-major CS GPA from a top ranked undergrad university. So pretty mediocre application as far as research goes but I like to think they saw potential :)

Prof. Kevin Stenson told me that "the admissions process is nearly complete. We have not yet decided on your case. You should hear from us within the next two weeks." Well....Hope that we'll still have a chance to get in!!!

It seems that a little bit of research tells me that they keep a list of people up to March 1st and then they send out all the rejections. Which means, if you haven't heard back by now. It is safe to assume you've been rejected. (I'm in this boat, too). So, start looking at other schools!
