It may not be the official line, but I would expect a First from Cambridge to have some weight. Especially since they should know the program very well. Best would be, of course, you average 75% in your last year :) Otherwise I would approach them again after you get the results. Hope it goes well and we get to meet in Oxford in fall! Oh, btw. Cam (Econ Research) was also more lenient in my case (1.3/5 ~ 70%). It is only for Oxford that the conditions are pretty restrictive ...

GPA is grad. Acceptance letter says (many) funding decisions will be sent out on or before April 15, and (some) not until June.

Don't know anything about the German system or how hard it is but 1.2/5 for the whole degree sounds tough. I am doing the Econ undergrad at Cambridge and got an offer from the Econ Research master there where I only need to graduate with a first. But I want to switch uni for masters. Anyways, I have emailed the department to find out whether not getting 75% means an automatic rejection. I hope they don't just admit everyone and then filter by making no one able to meet their offer. It's really annoying, surely a first from Cambridge should make you suitable for the course...

Well, I'm from a top 3 German Uni for econ and have a condition of 1.2 / 5 for my degree. After being a semester at Warwick, I would say this is pretty similar to having a 75% in the UK. So I can feel you, except here this means 75% (in UK terms) for the whole degree, i.e. across all 3 (!) years, not only the final.

I got my offer last week, but I dont think all offers have been given out yet for the MPhil Econ. My offer is a first with 75% in my final year. Is it only me who thinks that this condition is ridiculous? I am currently at a top 5 uni in UK doing Economics and getting 75% is close to impossible. Any thoughts on this? Will I still get in if i get 73% or so?

This I am not sure! But I wouldn't interpret anything too much as I would bet they are sending offers/rejections randomly. If I was you, I would probably write a friendly email to Admissions and ask for an update or an estimate of when they intend to notify all applicants.

What do you guys think about the English Lit MSts? Like, do you think the program is just a cash cow and that it's useless to attend without funding? I'm trying to decide between my (nonfunded) offer here (although I do have some independent scholarships) and a fully-funded school in the states that I love (though it's an MFA in Creative Writing, not a lit program). Any advice? Thanks so much.

Got a conditional offer if I get a first in my Zoology degree

Hi everyone. I have a deadline for another place and sent an email asking about decisions but I guess they're too busy to answer. Does anyone have any information about the Astrophysics decisions? At this point I feel like I was rejected and they just forgot to send me an email about it :(

To the poster below regarding DPIR: I called the office today and was told that results are being sent out slowly (regardless of rejection or acceptance) and we "should receive them by "this time next week."
