TTPB, I was in the same situation a month ago and the letter from the department took about 2 weeks to come, though from what I understand they are usually much quicker but for some reason took some time in my case. | ||||

The coordinator told me that they accepted 40 srudents, and during this week we can hear about them. I am so worried as they accepted many students. This is the only chance that I have. | ||||

TPB: UT Austin has sent out a few accepts and rejects but a large number of people (includingme and a couple friends) are yet to hear after the first round. In this situation not hearing is better than a straight reject, imo. Best of luck to you! | ||||

TTPB: Heard they are stringent wrt late LORs. Excerpt from their FAQs: Letters of recommendation should be received by December 4, 2019 (17:00 CST) for full consideration, however we will continue to accept letters throughout the evaluation process. Your application will still be considered with late or missing letters of recommendation. Late information won't be included in our initial ranking process but will be available to our review committee during their deliberations. | ||||

1yr undergraduate research experience. 4.0 major gpa. State school. Really good LORs and solid SOP (in my opinion). Didn't think I'd get in bc of my mediocre GRE scores and undergraduate program ranking, but I guess my other quals made up for it. | ||||
