Received interview invitation from a professor mentioned on my SOP via email. Area: ML. Background: 1 workshop paper, several poster presentations.

I received an email with an invite from the department for Virtual visit session. Had set up an interview with POI the day before. Interview yet to happen. Email - "We are happy to inform you that the Graduate Committee of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder has reviewed your application for admission in our PhD program. We are impressed with your credentials would like to invite you to our Virtual Visit session with our current graduate students on February 5th at 8:30 AM, MST. This session is an opportunity for you to know more about the program through our graduate students’ perspective which we believe is very vital in your decision making process. You may ask any questions to our current graduate students - from program details to living in Boulder, Colorado. We have selected a panel of student representatives from each of our research areas to give you the best opportunity."

To answer the question posted below: Interview call from a new AP starting fall 2020 (Tatsunori Hashimoto). Even though I didn't mention him in my application, I find that there is a great overlap between his recent research interests and mine. I'm not sure whether it's by coincidence or he's actually interested in me.

TTPB: For the two schools I've applied to that use ApplyWeb, both say submitted in green on the profile and when clicking on the checklist, Cornell has application status as "Completed" whereas UPenn has the application status "Ready for review"
