TTPB: being familiar with both, I’d do UMD over Columbia for the Master’s. Columbia has the reputation, but the master’s is a cash cow and professors are largely unavailable to you. It’s an enormous program and quite impersonal. The MS at UMD is more selective and much smaller. Opportunities for research are better. I wouldn’t be swayed by the name. | ||||
