The department had less funding this cycle, so expect it to be even more competitive than normal.

Same as below. I was asked if I had external funding. Tried bargaining, told them I could cover life expenses if they covered tuition (40k/yr). They said no (Annual cost between tuition and living costs is circa 70k). Declined, unfortunately. Good luck everyone. I think they waitlisted a lot of people and are trying to find out who is willing to attend w/o funding.

I am an international student with a 3.81 GPA, average LORs, 3 research works, and exceptional extracurricular achievements. Got an email from UPenn to check the portal and got a decision letter there.

The administrator said the department is suffering from budget limitations.

Notified early by email. Official acceptance on March 11.
