too bad, not very sad

Thanks for your kind words, MIT. Though it'll be tough, I MAY be able to continue with my professional studies elsewhere.

The funding situation is much worse than usual this year. So they could be accepting fewer grad students this year.

I haven't heard anything from MIT yet. Still waiting for it. It seems that much fewer admissions have been posted here, compared to the previous year.

Anyone else still waiting on decision by DMSE? It seems that they sent out a few acceptances at the start of February, but nothing since then.

One 1st author publication, undergrad: Duke

Undergraduate major: electrical engineering

Last year one of my seniors got admitted, he wasn't even within the top 5% of my more than 500 people department. I had done 4 undergraduate research projects and 2 publications. Strong recommendations from respectable professors, 2 of which graduated from MIT while the other from another top US school...

It's a bit confusing, you have to click on "MIT Graduate Application to the Department of Materials Science and Engineering" header itself. But, the view decision button may take like half a minute to appear below where it links you to the institution home page.

if a decision has been made... there is an icon "view decision" if not, i dont think a decision has been made.
