POI emailed me first, telling me it's a hard decision... And in a few hours, an email was sent to notify a new message in the portal. I cried.

TTPB asking about profiles/interviews: I had an interview with several UMSI faculty in mid-January, but I did not have any communication with faculty prior to applying. I'm sorry if you haven't received the news you were hoping for; we've all been there and it sucks. Best of luck that your other schools pull through!

I can't believe it!

In continuation of prev. post, I was interviewed by two UMSI profs in mid-Jan.

First offer after three successive rejects. I received an email with the offer and funding package. TTPB asking about profile: I am working at a top-tier research lab in India, strong LORs, no papers but three in submission, several news articles as the second author, contacted POI before applying. In general, I think it is very critical to have contact with POI before applying, if not in person, at least via email. Good luck to everyone!

Interviewed in mid-Jan with 5 UMSI professor

To the admitted folks: Congrats! As a fellow applicant who is probably rejected and looking for closure, did you have interviews? And just for the sake of understanding, how is your profile generally, if you don't mind sharing?

To the poster below, you're probably not seeing the other results because you specified information science instead of just information in your search terms. I had my interviews about two weeks ago, and I've been told they're sending out acceptances early February-ish :(

Has anyone heard from UMich Information Science PhD program? Quick search here returns only one interview invite this year. Last year, almost all of the interview invites had rolled out by now. Is it time to give up and count that as a reject?

Invited to on-campus welcome event in February. Funding will be decided shortly thereafter.
