Email from the Graduate Chair. I am very excited to join the program in Fall! Congrats to all who also got accepted!!

Emailed POI (JL) to ask if still considering applicants. Responded asking for Skype interview!

This one really hurts. I got the impression from my interview that I had a guarunteed shot. 3/11, all rejections so far. Decent GPA, decent test scores, no published papers (two works in progress), but TONS of research and posters/talks.

At least now I don't have to stay up all night every night wondering how my application could be better. I am the BIG sad and will probably remain this way until the day I die. They said no :,) 7 more schools to go

Received an email about applying for a TA position. Contacted and was emailed a copy of my acceptance letter. Worried because the deadline to accept admission is the end of February, which is before I will have heard back from a number of other programs. No word on funding.

I'm a Hawaii resident, which may have helped. It's a conditional acceptance (based on passing a background check + final course requirements + 25 hrs of observations).

Wow. I really thought I had shot here after visiting the school, being interviewed in person and meeting with a potential PI. This one stings. 12 more to go I guess

I asked the POI whether all interviews went out and POI suggested a Skype interview and said that I am one of the candidates.

Has anyone else heard from UH-Manoa? Wanting to know if all invitations for interviews went out

First reached out to potential PI late August 2019 and kept in contact. Met at AGU December 2019 and he sent unofficial acceptance email yesterday !

Received an email with an informal offer of admission from the department. I was offered a GAship, and I'll have to wait to hear about fellowships and/or scholarships. Happy and relieved!

The open house is March 8-10. I want to do documentation, so super excited to be admitted to the PhD with funding!

Skype interview the week of Feb 10. Wish me luck!
