ttp(s)b: So it was correct that rejections were handed out today for those of you who weren't accepted on the 16th. I wish you all success in your future endeavors, and please don't evaluate your rejection as a flaw in character or merit. For those of you who (like myself) have no decision as of yet, keep holding in there. Hoping for heat transfer.

TTPB: Area I had applied to was Robotics, Instrumentation and Control in Mechanical Engineering

Thank you for applying to the Mechanical Engineering Department at MIT and thank you for your patience during this lengthy admissions process. Unfortunately, we are unable to admit you to our graduate program. This year we received a record number of applicants, but we were only able to admit approximately 1 in 10. As a result, we had to turn away hundreds of highly-qualified applicants. We truly wish you well in your future endeavors.

PI said she might not be taking students this year so it was a shot in the dark but still sad ;(

:(

Has anyone heard back from the MST (MS Transportation)? (Interviews/decisions?)

ttpb: Sorry to hear about the rejections. But, could you all please mention what area of concentration you had selected? It would be very helpful if you could also mention the time at which you received the emails? TIA P.S. : I haven't received any emails yet. My anxiety is on the next level right now.

rip

Same rejection letter from last year word for word lol, next

I haven't received any email yet. Does it mean I am waitlisted? or sending email just takes some time?

Thank you for allowing us to consider your application to the graduate program in the Department of Mathematics at MIT. We regret to inform you that it was not among those recommended for acceptance to our graduate program this year. We hope you will understand that there were many excellent candidates we could not admit due to limited resources. The decision in your case was reached only after extensive review in a highly competitive process. We wish you success in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Davesh Maulik and Wei Zhang Co-chairs, Graduate Program Jonathan Kelner Chair, Applied Mathematics Graduate Committee
