"Thank you for applying to the graduate program in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. We have received a large number of applications from outstanding applicants this year, but we can only admit a small portion of them due to the capacity limit of our program. Therefore, although your record is quite strong, we are unlikely to admit you to our program." Is this a rejection?

I have applied to MS in Stat/CS at Purdue University West Lafayette. Any idea when will Purdue give results? Or it done with all admits?

Emailed them - nothing new. "At present, your application is still under review by the ME Graduate Admissions Committee. Unfortunately, we cannot give you an exact date on when you will receive an admissions decision (via e-mail) from us. -ME Graduate Office, Purdue"

Informed rejection after I emailed them.

To the posts below, I got the exact same thing last week. I don't understand why they are doing this! If they have the results, why they don't inform us until we email them!!

Just called to find out the status of my application. Was told that they still going through applications and they will inform people within the next two weeks....

I just emailed the folks at Purdue and asked about my admission status. they gave me the answer in less than an hour: "Your application has been reviewed by the ME Graduate Admissions Committee. Unfortunately, your application was not reviewed highly. Therefore, you will receive a deny letter (via e-mail) from Purdue's Graduate School. We wish you the very best of luck with your future graduate studies. -ME Graduate Office, Purdue"

The worst school I have applied to. They sent an email after I emailed asking about my application status. Have gotten into better schools. Perhaps wasn't a good research fit. Applied in the field of soft robotics. If anyone is waiting for a result from here, you can email and get your rejection letter.

Has anyone who applied around Feb gotten a reply yet, or are they not accepting any further applications?

To the posters below regarding Purdue Ph.D in Mechanical Eng.- looking at previous year results, Purdue seems to have a habit of rolling out really late rejections in May and even June. So, if you don't hear back from them by April 15th, chances of getting an admit from there are very very slim
