3 years of research experience. I was initially rejected, but upon asking a member of the committee for feedback on my application, it was revealed my rejection was a mistake. Initial rejection was received around December 22nd I believe. Make sure to ask for feedback on your application just in case! Even if the decision was final, you may get some good advice out of it!

undergrad from a Top 20 US college, biochem major, finished all major required courses in two years (early graduation), 3.9/4.0 GPA (major: 3.95+/4.00), no GRE, 1.5 years of research experience at the time of application, one first-author pub online, one first-author and one second-author pub in prep, strong letter of recs from three PIs, scheduled an informal interview (lasted an hour) with POI right after I submitted my application to maximize the chance of admission

Fair rejection...with justifiable explanation...the program is extremely competitive, 150 applications for just 8 positions.

POI emailed me earlier that I was on top of the waitlist and might get an offer in the spring. Just got my official letter today. Even though it is a tough swallow, still grateful and shocked that they would even consider me with my low GPA.
