Thank you very much for applying to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Yale University. I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission. As you know, the very high number of extraordinary candidates far exceeds the number of places we have in each program, and we are not able to admit many excellent candidates. We wish you every success in all your future endeavors.

surprised I wasn't even waitlisted, good gpa from good school, strong essays and recs. only 1.5 years in workforce though (higher education) and only environmental work was undergrad internships.

Do other accepted students intend to take this offer? I have no idea if it's a good program.

I have been applying for a masters degree since 2016, finally got admitted by a top tier school! I'm ecstatic! Canadian undergrad. 4 years of software engineering experience. No pub.

Post-Interview. Reasonably disappointed (interviews went well, was told by multiple interviewers that I stood out in a good way), but fortunate enough to have gotten into Stanford, my other top choice. This is a great time to remember that admissions decisions are a) a very rough measure of academic potential, and b) completely unrelated to personal worth. Congrats to everyone who was offered a spot - you're all amazing and so, so deserving of this oppertunity!

Rejected after interviewing. It hurts because I thought the interviews went well and I had good talks with the professors. Good luck to everyone.

[Not WL] How many students these universities pick up from the waiting list usually?

Only 1.5 yrs work experience in the political space, tangential to environmental work, so this was expected.

M.Arch II - Bye Bye Dreams

Not really surprised, but still sad.

Whoops, realized a letter about funding was attached to the acceptance page in the portal. No funding, so not sure what the next move is for me.
