I regret to inform you that you have not been accepted into the Ph.D. program in the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of California Berkeley. This year we had a large pool of superbly qualified applicants and we had the difficult task of selecting only a few candidates from this pool. As is usually the case with our program, we focused on candidates with outstanding academic records and compelling research agendas that are a good fit with our faculty, but we were also unable to accept many stellar applicants.
