Was notified via email that I had been chosen to participate in a site visit in the coming few weeks. (I am American but my undergrad degree is from a Canadian institution).

POI emailed my to see if I wanted to have a phone conversation about their research and whether or not I would be interested in participating in it (I am American but my undergraduate degree is from a Canadian institution).

The head of the admission committee says in email that they're able to give out only one offer this year in my subfield. This is already a honor for me, because after talking with a POI before application deadline I was sure UT Austin might not be a fit. Yet they did interview me. It's beyond expectation whether they finally give me an offer or not

To the person who asked about my subfield: I'm in linguistic anthro. I interviewed pretty horribly so I don't think I got this one

*edit to the previous comment. I meant email from POI for a Skype interview on the 29th or 31st

Interview from POI for an interview on the 29th or the 31st

***edit to the previous. I meant "non-POI faculty member" not "non-faculty POI"

Thank you - the email was from a non-faculty POI and they will conduct the interview. Best of luck!

To the two posters below: congrats! Is the email coming from your poi or admission committee/department representative? Thx.

cultural...not the poster below but posted last week. My interview is Thursday

To the post about anthro PhD interview below, what subfield are you in?

Invited to the recruitment weekend. E-mail said that I am "very likely" to be admitted.
