Dejected. Despite being a Gold Medalist in MA Economics and despite having 7 years of economic research experience in a Central Bank, got rejected. 7r/oa. I am not able to understand what they actually need. Thank you very much for applying to the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Yale University. I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission. As you know, the very high number of extraordinary candidates far exceeds the number of places we have in each program, and we are not able to admit many excellent candidates. We wish you every success in all your future endeavors.

To the poster below--I don't think there are strict cutoffs!

IR subfield. Humbled and thrilled. This is my first acceptance of the cycle, so I am elated. Congrats to the other admits, and good vibes to everyone still waiting to hear from schools. 1a/2w/0r/2p

Emailed to check portal. Sort of expected it as they didn't offer to interview. Wish you all (and myself) good luck... 0a/4r/5p
