Haven't heard anything from the program since January, so I thought I'd surely be rejected. I already accepted an offer from a more prestigious program anyhow, so I will formally withdraw my application for anyone else waiting.

I was "waitlisted" at first and told to wait for second round of funding offers. Unfortunately, the acceptance rate from first round of funding offers was high and would definitely impede my acceptance. High competition!

They haven’t decided funding yet, but if I get a TA position I will be attending.

emailed admissions contact

The faculty didn't tell me that he is interested in my background and he just said that I should apply to be considered.

Email stated I should check my application page, noted that over 250 people applied and fewer than 10% were accepted. Published research papers through Cornell, so somewhat surprised. Good luck to everyone else!

Notified and accepted by email from PI yesterday into NAU's MS Geology program with full funding.

Email from the school to check the portal.

Accepted via email with full funding. Received official acceptance about a week later. Also had phone interview with 2 professors prior to acceptance.

Emailed advisor, not accepted

Told to consider other options as there is not a current adviser who wishes to take me on.

Thank you for applying to the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder. We regret to inform you that your application for admission to our graduate program has been declined. This decision is based upon careful analysis of all applications and the total pool of applicants, which totaled over 250 this year. Your application was considered by faculty members in your area of interest. Unfortunately, we can accept only a limited number of new students (

A faculty committee has reviewed your application and I’m pleased to let you know we have recommended you for admission into the program. You should expect to receive a letter of admission from ETSU Graduate Studies in the next week or so. We also plan to recommend you for a Graduate Assistantship (GA) or Research Assistantship (RA) in the Department.

Anybody heard back from geology department?

1st rejection for this round of applications
