I got a "Welcome" email today, as in a newsletter about the program. No info besides that. Could this be a mistake? Not sure whether to call and ask or wait...anyone else experience this?

Got an email that UC Berkeley had made a decision regarding my application. Was so nervous it took me a while to create the online ID that would allow me to view the verdict. I still can't believe it. I applied to Berkeley and NYU. Still waiting to hear from NYU. Good luck to everybody else.

Still waiting to hear back from UC Berkeley School of Journalism; haven't had any email/call about an interview/change in admission status. Has anyone else been contacted yet??

Has anyone heard anything yet for admission in Fall 2017? Were you contacted for an interview? Given an estimated timeline? I haven't heard a peep!

I am beyond excited. To those who didn't get in, there's always next year! Good luck! Curious to know what everyone's scholarship packages were like. I received 10k both years.

Denied via email but super surprised because interviewer said he would recommend. also surprised because got into Annenberg for graduate, and Berkeley was a backup. Oh well

I have not heard back at all from Berkeley, the coordinator told me that everything should be out by next week. Here's to hoping! Anyone else still waiting?

Following my interview in December, I didn't receive any info from UCB or the department until I was notified via email by a faculty member that I was accepted. I think some international students receive phone calls but I don't know if everyone does.

I interviewed in person back in December and when I saw people were getting phone calls I knew if by the end of yesterday I didn't I would be getting a rejection letter. This is the email I got. But considering it wasn't even addressed to me I figured it was standard rejection email. And from other people it sounds like everyone that was rejected got this email? If that's the case, I'm very dissapointed. That just wouldn't be right! Your application was strong, and unfortunately we are unable to offer you admission to the Master of Journalism program at UC Berkeley this year. We take pride in our small classes and the hands-on mentoring style of our instructors and faculty, but this means that we have to limit the number of applicants that we can accept each year. In your case, if we could admit just a few dozen more applicants, your application would have been accepted. Unfortunately we do not use waitlists, so this decision is final. However, this means you have a strong chance of admission next year. I'd be happy to talk with you further about your application so I can offer you feedback and encouragement. With another year of reporting experience and writing practice, your application will certainly be even stronger. Was also "waitlisted" like the person below, though they don't do that. I'm 21, so they wanted me to get more experience for next year and said I then have a strong chance.

My interviewer said she doesn't know anything yet. If any news, she'll keep me posted. Has anyone heard something?
