Stats: no publications or extracurriculars/1 semester of research experience (senior year). Did undergrad at Stony Brook (CIV major).

First acceptance !! No GRE, no research experience, undergrad at ivy and 3 years top industry experience and strong letters. Expressed interest in continuing on to PhD but seemed to have gotten accepted to un-funded masters, sparse details. 1a/2p

Just got an invitation for the visit day. Most probably will reject the offer.

Very nice rejection email.

Generic rejection mail

Mail stated that i was one of the top PhD applicants for AAE. Mentioned that a particular prof is interested in me. I contacted the professor and got the date for a discussion

stated I was one of the top candidates, named the prof who mentioned my name, and advised to approach him for interview. also asked if I still wish to be considered for admission.

Happily rejected

Feels good man, my 1st choice school. Got rejected from the other 5/6 schools I applied to. I'm not a strong candidate nor super academic like other applicants, but I really loved this department and gave it my all, spoke with many of the faculty prior to applying and such.

Email stated that admissions was highly competitive this year. Included invite to admitted student virtual visit day.

Really thought I was a good fit for two professors in particular, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

An email invitation to attend virtual visit of the department and suggest having one-on-one meeting with the faculty whose research I am interested in.

Disappointing, but long term probably wasn't the best fit for my research interests.

Email invited me to the graduate student open house and said I was among the top PhD applicants.
