Email with offer letter from Department, acceptance from Graduate School forthcoming.

Your application and supporting documents have been carefully reviewed by the Psychology department and by this office. The number of excellent applicants to the Graduate School and our policy of limited enrollment make it impossible for us to offer admission to more than a small number of the students who apply. I am sorry to report that you are among those whom we are unable to admit. We do hope that you will be able to pursue graduate study at another institution.

Rejected via email. Said they rejected 95% of the applicants.

POI added: "you are very high on our wait-list and so I’d ask that you not make any final decisions regarding graduate school without getting in touch with me first"

Have a MA in General Psych (3.96 GPA). Several years of teaching experience.

wrote an email inquiring the status, and got the response:The Admissions Committee has spent the past two months carefully reviewing applications . Unfortunately, you have not been invited to attend our interview weekend. Due to the competitive nature of our program we are unable to invite most applicants for interview, some of whom are exceptionally qualified individuals. Sometime in late April the admissions committee will send out their final decision for each applicant. Our suggestion is that all applicants who have not been invited for an interview should begin seeking alternatives to MIT.

Email to check my status on the website. Rejection number 1. I thought this was a safety school for me too. :(

no chance for interview, already know this result in Jan.

An email to check the status page. A rejection from the university I like so much.
